TGA’s golf league is a recreational, team-based, inclusive program for boys and girls ages 7-15. The league engages all players through a progressive four-player team format which prepare students for tournament competition and high school golf. The league is geared towards junior golfers who already have playing experience on the course, as each player has the ability to contribute to the team on each hole. Through team golf, players develop skills such as camaraderie and teamwork, in addition to honesty, integrity and perseverance that golf provides as an individualistic sport. Similar to core sports youth leagues, TGA golf leagues are distinctive in their encouragement towards parent involvement throughout the league as it benefits the child’s experience and the leagues success. TGA leagues follow school-based programs in the Player Pathway for youth golf participation and development of skills. In order to ensure the appropriate on-course pace-of-play and to provide an encouraging environment for all players, various formats may be used each week such as a two-person best ball or four-person scramble.
**This year, TGA is happy to announce that we will rotate between Frosty Valley and South Park golf courses!**
Frosty Valley Dates: April 25 (practice round), May 9. Tee times are set to begin around 10:00 a.m.
South Park Dates: May 2, 16. Tee times are set to begin around 3:00 p.m.
League Matches will be played: 5/2, 5/9, 5/16. A small banquet with awards will be held on the last day of league play. If a make-up league date is required, that will be held on June 6th at the appropriate course. Please keep in mind that if a make-up date is necessary, TGA must adhere to the course's availability.
There will be two age groups: 7-10 & 11-15
*Please note: We will need some parent volunteers to walk with groups to help keep score. This is very important and hope that you can volunteer to walk with your child and assist in keeping score. Parents are permitted to caddie or ride along with your child. While parent support is necessary for a successful league, please be aware that South Park Golf Course's policy only allows two parents to walk with each foursome due to liability reasons. TGA will make every effort to rotate parents that want to volunteer each week. We will need at least one parent volunteer but not more than two to walk with each foursome. If you would like to use a cart, that fee will need to be paid directly to Frosty Valley's or South Park's Pro Shop.
*All players must have their own golf clubs. Clubs may be rented or purchased later in the registration process.
*Brings up your info and the info for all of your Campers.
*We'll remember your info the next time you register.
